Mathematical Treasure: Albert of Saxony’s Treatise on Proportions

Albert of Saxony (ca. 1320-1390) was a German philosopher and natural scientist. In his Tractatus proportionum, he examined the concept of motion, building on the works of his fellow speculative philosopher, Thomas Bradwardine (ca. 1295-1349). The edition examined here was published in 1477.
