Purpose

Increase students' critical thinking about finding Fibonacci patterns in data sets.

Objectives

 Students will be able examine charts of stock market indices in search of patterns.

Activities
  1. How are the numbers 0.618 and 0.382 in the third illustration related to the Golden ratio?
  2. Find 3 examples of stock market data sets of at least 34 elements each. Try to fit an Elliot wave to each data set.
  3. If the data fits, try to predict the next (future) fluctuation. Did it work?
