Isaac Todhunter (1820–1884) was an English mathematician and a prolific textbook writer. In 1858 he published Algebra for Beginners, the book became very popular and went through several editions. The images shown here are of the 1876 edition held by the University of Western Ontario. The entire text is available in the Internet Archive.
