Author(s):
Frank J. Swetz (The Pennsylvania State University)

Sylvestre Lacroix (1765–1843) was a French mathematician and Professor of Mathematics. He was also a prolific author of many mathematical textbooks. His Complément des Élémens d’Algébre is intended to be a supplement to his algebra text published in 1800; images from that work’s 9th and 14th editions are available in Convergence. Complement was also first published in 1800, but the images shown here are from the third edition of 1804.
