Mathematical Treasure: Christoph Nottnagel’s Synopsis Mathematica

A Synopsis Mathematica was published in 1657 by the German mathematician and astronomer Christoph Nottnagel (1607–1666). He served most of his career as professor of mathematics at the University of Wittenberg, where he trained a wide variety of students both formally and as a private tutor.

In the first book, Nottnagel described several types of ratios.
