Mathematical Treasure: Fubini’s Analysis

Guido Fubini (1879-1943) was a noted Italian analyst. He served for many years as a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Turin. Fubini is remembered for the theorem that bears his name, Fubini’s Theorem, and for devising the Fubini-Study metric. As a Jew, he feared living in Mussolini’s Fascist Italy and emigrated to the U.S. in 1939. Among his works is Lezioni di analisi matematica, first published in 1913.  The image of the title page below is from the fourth edition in 1920.
